About Us

Whenever you walk into Yanni’s Mediterranean Grille & Opa! Bar in Albuquerque's famed Nob Hill neighborhood, you immediately notice the delectable aromas, the many tables of “regulars” who seem to eat here as often as you, maybe a state or city politician or two, and always one of Yanni’s owners greeting you with a warm friendly smile. It’s a wonderful ritual that has made Yanni’s one of the city's most consistent popular dining destinations.
And now, it’s possible for your senses to get that same welcome feeling in a restaurant-rich area in the northern reaches of the Duke City. Yanni’s owners Nick Kapnison, Jimmy and Nadine Daskalos have opened Nick & Jimmy’s Bar and Grill in the fast growing I-25 Corridor.
Many of those Yanni’s favorites have made the trek to the menu at Nick and Jimmy’s. But diners are happily surprised by the addition of what Kapnison calls comfort food. Longtime customers will also find the new location quite comfortable. “So many of our regulars live in the Northeast Heights, in Rio Rancho or on the Westside, “ said Kapnison. “They appreciate having our new place so close.”
The new restaurant is quickly becoming a destination for happy hour. Kapnison noted, “Our location makes it a perfect spot for friends from all over the city to converge.”
“It’s nice that both restaurants are successful,” said Kapnison. “This might not have seemed like the perfect time to be expanding our business, but we saw a great opportunity to make this move. Opening the new place was quite challenging, but now we see that we made the right decision. We’re very pleased with the results.”
So are diners in New Mexico.
